Aidpage Open Letter: Hope

To the attention of:

Barack Obama, US President;
------------------------------------

Dear Mr. President,

This is my second letter to you, and although i know you have more important things to do than read my sob story, perhaps it will find its way to you anyway.

Before i start, please...no i beg you, defeat Romney!! Listening to him and his wife for four years is almost un-bearable to think about. So that being said i think you have done the best job you can, with what you've had to work with. A few missteps for sure(and what President hasn't?) but ovrall a job well done.

So on to my problem. One that i help create, and by the same token, had no control of.

I lost my job in Demeber of 07'. Like many others, and like many others, i wasn't prepared, and probably wasn't living within my means.

So, re-employment was slow,(months of un-employment) the eventual compensation upon re-entering the job market half to less than half, i found myself unable to honor my financial commitments. First to go was the cable, then the electric, my rental, and finally my 07' Fusion.

Herein lies the beef for me. I have been buying cars since i was 16. 12, to be exact. Paid off every damn one. Now this re-po has made me toxic to car financing.

Like i was saying i was woefully unprepared for my job loss due to Business closure. I had no rainy day fund, so i think it is important that you remind people to pay themselves first, and to live within there means. I would also like to see, Financial Institutions, to take a closer look at those of us who were credit worthy, before the economic meltdown, and who may be credit worthy again through re-entry into the job market as it is with me.

As of now they will finance me, but with a huge down payment, and very large interest. At the present time i do not have the necessary finances to get a deal done.

Thank you for letting me speak my mind, and if you can be of any assistance, it would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Donald C Russ
